For the August 27th issue, we’ve replaced the Automotive focus with a focus titled “Agency Innovators.” Basically, we’re looking to profile individuals at PR agencies that have a unique vision for the future of not only their agencies, but also the industry and practice of PR in general. Feel free to suggest anyone you think may be relevant, either by commenting here or emailing: .
We do not have a print issue, but we will be publishing news, features, etc. on the Web. Continue to both pitch and visit the site.
Changes at PRWeek
Eleanor Trickett, executive editor at PRWeek, has joined sister publication DM News as editor-in-chief. Trickett had been at PRWeek for seven years, initially joining as news editor and serving as features editor before assuming the executive editorship. Keith O’Brien, news editor and editor of PRWeek.com, has been promoted to executive editor at PRWeek. O’Brien joined PRWeek three years ago as editor, PRWeek.com. Julia Hood will remain editor-in-chief of PRWeek and editorial director of both publications, which are owned by Haymarket Media.
Thanks again to Rick Clancy, SVP of corporate communications at Sony Electronics, and Mike Manuel, social media strategist at Voce Communications, for their participation today’s webcast, titled “Does your Web strategy work?” Both of them were able to offer some insight into the whole new and social media phenomenon, and provide real examples of how such tactics are being used successfully. For those of you who weren’t able to log on live, you can access an archived version here. If any of you who were able to log in had a question that didn’t get answered, please feel free to post it here and we will do our best to get it answered.

Notes on briefs
I have to insist, kindly, that if you send a news release about a new hire or a new win, you check our brief blog inbrief.prweekblogs.com before you ask if we’ve received it. If a brief on your release is up there, that means we’ve definitely received it.
If you’re on Facebook, you can join our group . If you’re on LinkedIn, you can join my network here. We are, increasingly, Web-ified.
We have a feature on “great brands” coming up in the first week of August, which means that I’m currently looking for some possible ideas. Obviously we’re looking for companies that are open to discussing how they use PR effectively within their organization and any recent PR campaigns that illustrate this. Any suggestions?
On June 26th at 12pm, I’ll be moderating a webcast titled “Does your Web strategy work?” We’ll be looking at how companies can really measure the effectiveness of their online outreach. Rick Clancy, SVP of corporate communications for Sony Electronics, will be the featured speaker. Click here for more information or to register.
PRWeek is the national media partner of the Edelman new media summit. PRWeek EIC Julia Hood will be moderating the final panel of the day. For the schedule (and the blog), click here.
