PRWeek opens the kimono, as it were

Posted September 28, 2006 * Comments(0)

This is the inaugural post to the Editors’ blog, where we will give you a better sense of how we do business and how we create the issue every week. We hope you will give us feedback and not hold it against us if we don’t get back to everyone. We have a magazine to run, after all.

Web reporter

We have a new addition to the PRWeek.com staff - Tonya Garcia, who joins us from an internship at Fast Company to serve as our inaugural Web reporter. While I will continue to implement PRWeek.com strategy, Tonya will handle the day-to-day updates of PRWeek.com and also be contributing to PRWeek.com features. We’re delighted to introduce her to our readers.

Upcoming webcast

Posted September 17, 2006 * Comments(0)

I will be moderating a webcast on September 28, featuring the estimable Steve Rubel, senior vice president, Edelman’s me2revolution; and Andrew Lark, CMO of LogLogic. We had our first planning call on Friday and got through some really interesting brainstorming. All three participants agreed that attendees should leave with some actionable points, and we shall work together to get that agenda sorted.

On HP and deadlines

Posted September 15, 2006 * Comments(0)

This week, our cover story will be on HP’s board room crisis. As is the case with print publications, we had a deadline for when HP could get back to us. When we first contacted them, at the onset of the crisis, they said they would not discuss PR plans. We gave them some questions; which they returned to us after the paper had gone to print.

You will find some of HP’s comments on PRWeek.com, but, due to the deadline, not on the print. That’s why everyone is talk

Final HP comment

Posted September 15, 2006 * Comments(0)

You’ll notice that the front-page story, as well as the editorial and Julia’s column - all deal with HP’s situation. The reason for such wall-to-wall coverage is not to focus the microscope on a beleagured company; rather this incident, it seemed, provided such education for the industry, that it needed coverage on multiple fronts. We hope you’ll read all three and let us know what you think.

You’ll get the chance to read a corporate profile on WVU Hospitals (which took in the one survivor from the Sago Mines crisis), a public affairs feature, and a Russia market focus
